Changing plan, downgrading or leaving

Updated 15 July 2026 · 1 min read

Upgrades apply immediately with fair proration, downgrades and cancellation take effect at period end, and your data stays yours throughout.

No lock-in is a feature. Here's exactly what happens when you change your mind.

Upgrading

Pick the new plan in Settings → Plan & billing. It applies immediately — the difference is prorated, charged or credited on your next invoice against the card on file. New features unlock on the spot.

Downgrading

Downgrades work the same mechanically. Features beyond the new plan lock when the change applies, but nothing is deleted — if you later upgrade again, everything is where you left it.

Leaving

Cancel from the same page. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you've paid for, then your studio drops to the free Bench plan — it isn't deleted, and your book stays intact.

Your data, either way

  • On the Bench you keep access to your data indefinitely.
  • Want a copy? Settings → Security & data → Data Control exports your records.
  • Want it gone? The same section covers erasure.
Changing cadence (monthly ↔ seasonal ↔ yearly) works like a plan change — prorated, no drama.
