Add your first client

Create a client record, understand the Yarn timeline, and see how companies, parties and lifecycle tiers keep the book organised.
Everything in Faden hangs off the client record — commissions, measurements, messages and appointments all live there.
Create the record
Press + Create → Client (or ⌘K and type new client). Name and one contact method is enough to start; you can fill in the rest later.
Phone numbers are validated as you type and Faden notes whether they can receive SMS — so reminders automatically go to the right channel.
The record itself
Open any client and you'll find:
- The Yarn — a running timeline of everything: notes, calls, emails, SMS, files and order events. Add to it with the composer at the top.
- Measurements — versioned sets (see Recording measurements).
- Commissions, appointments and follow-ups — all in one place.
Companies and parties
- Companies (The Book → Companies) group corporate clients — uniforms, teams, firms.
- Parties (The Book → Parties) group a wedding or event so you can manage the whole group's fittings and orders together.
The book keeps itself organised
Faden computes lifecycle tiers (new, regular, VIP) and flags clients who are due a follow-up. Check the saved views at the top of The Book — VIPs, Needs attention, Due to reorder, Leads.
