Leads and the sales pipeline

Enquiries aren't clients yet — track them through stages from first contact to first commission.

Someone who emails "how much for a wedding suit?" isn't a client yet — they're a lead, and they deserve a pipeline, not a sticky note.

Where leads come from

  • Design-tool submissions — someone plays with your public design tool and sends it in.
  • Enquiries — email or SMS into the Inbox from someone new.
  • Manual — the person who wandered in and took a card.

Stages

Each lead carries a sales stage — enquiry, consult booked, quoted, won/lost — so the Leads view in The Book reads like a funnel. Move them forward as things happen; a stage that hasn't moved in a while is a nudge to follow up.

Converting

A lead becomes a client the natural way — book the consult, raise the quote, take the commission. Their history from lead days stays on the Yarn.

Keep the funnel honest

Mark dead leads lost rather than deleting them — the ratio of quoted-to-won is one of the most useful numbers in your reports, and it only works if the losses are recorded.
