Getting started with Faden

Updated 15 July 2026 · 1 min read

Your first ten minutes — how the studio is laid out, how to move around fast, and where to go next.

Welcome to Faden. Here's the lay of the land and the quickest path to being productive.

The studio, room by room

The left-hand rail is the Hallway — every row is a door into a room:

  • The Bench — your day: what needs doing now, tickets, suggestions.
  • The Book — clients, companies and parties, plus your Inbox.
  • The Board — commissions (orders) moving through production.
  • The Diary — appointments and fittings.
  • The Rail — your garments, fabrics, presets and the design tool.
  • The Ledger — reports, automations and campaigns.
  • The Hands — your team.
  • Notions — connected apps: payments, calendars, accounting.

Small counts on the doors ("whispers") tell you where work is waiting before you open them.

Move around fast

Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) anywhere. Type a client's name, a room, or an action like new commission — it's the fastest way to do almost anything.

When you're stuck

The ? in the top bar opens help for exactly the page you're on. This article set continues in Your first week on Faden — a checklist.
