When a client designs: submissions to drafts

Updated 15 July 2026 · 1 min read

Your public design tool feeds the studio — what arrives, how to respond, and how remembered designs work.

Your design tool runs on your website without a login — see What your clients see. Here's what happens when someone uses it.

The submission

A visitor builds a garment and sends it in with their contact details. It arrives as a draft — the full design (cloth, options, price as configured), waiting in your approvals rather than becoming an order by itself. Nothing is committed until you've looked at it.

Responding well

The submission is a warm lead with a specification attached — the reply that wins is fast and concrete: "Lovely choice — that flannel wants a half-lining for our summer. Come in Thursday and we'll confirm the fit?" Book the consult, refine the design together, raise the commission.

Designs are remembered

Signed-in clients keep their designs — a client can start something at home, and you pull it up at the counter and finish it together. The design conversation continues instead of restarting.

Submissions land as leads in The Book too — see Leads and the pipeline. The follow-up speed is the whole game: same-day replies close.
