Data Control: export, erasure and retention
Updated 15 July 2026 · 1 min read
Your obligations to your clients' data, handled — exports, the right to be forgotten, consent and factory masking.
Your clients trust you with their measurements, contact details and buying history. Data Control (Settings → Security & data) is where that trust is administered.
Export
Take a full export of your studio's records any time — yours to keep, no questions. When a client asks for their data (a DSAR, or just curiosity), export that one client cleanly.
Erasure
A client with the right to be forgotten can be erased — personal details removed while the anonymised commercial record (an order happened, revenue was real) stays intact for your accounts. Erasure is deliberate and logged; it's not an undo.
Consent
Marketing consent lives on the client record and is enforced everywhere automatically — campaigns and marketing automations simply can't reach the unconsented. See How Faden picks SMS vs email.
Retention
Set how long departed-client data is kept before automatic cleanup — matching your policy rather than defaulting to forever.
Factory masking
Production paperwork can carry a job number instead of a client name — your makers cut cloth, not your book. See Tech packs.
The Privacy Policy covers Faden's own obligations to you.
