Trunk shows: selling on the road
Updated 15 July 2026 · 1 min read
Take the studio to another city — bookings, measurements and orders captured properly, in the local currency.
A trunk show is the studio travelling — a few days in another city, a full diary, and orders that mustn't get lost in a notebook.
Setting one up
Create the show in The Ledger → Trunk shows: where, when, and the working details. The show becomes the container its bookings and orders hang off, so the trip reads as one thing in your reports afterwards.
On the road
- Bookings — clients book into the show's slots; the Diary carries the show's schedule alongside home.
- Measure and design as usual — Fitting mode on a tablet was made for a hotel suite.
- Orders in local currency — a show abroad can quote and take commissions in the local currency, priced and taxed for where you're standing.
Afterwards
The show's orders flow into production like any other; the show's report tells you whether the city was worth the airfare — revenue against the trip, in one view.
Announce the next city to past clients there first. A trunk show sells best to people who already know the house — the campaign tools segment by location.
