A commission is an order — a garment (or several) for a client, with fabric, options, pricing and a production journey.
Three ways to raise one
- + Create → Commission — the direct route.
- From a client record — pre-linked to the client.
- From the design tool — build the garment visually in The Rail → Design tool, then turn the design into a commission in one step.
What's in a commission
- Garments from your catalog, each with its options and construction choices.
- Fabric from your cloth wall (or a client's own cloth).
- Pricing — computed from your markup rules, editable per line.
- Deposit — take it up front; the balance is tracked until delivery.
The Board
Every commission is a card on The Board, moving through your stages — from order through cutting, making, finishing and fitting to collection. Production stages can advance automatically as work is logged. The Awaiting approval view collects anything that needs a decision from you.
New commissions don't reach a factory until mandatory measurements are in — see Recording measurements.
