The fitting lifecycle: first measure to final press

How a commission moves through consultations, fittings and alterations — and where each step lives in Faden.
A made-to-measure garment is a series of appointments, and Faden tracks all of them against the commission.
The usual shape
- Consultation — design and cloth are chosen (often in the design tool), measurements taken.
- First fitting — the garment in progress goes on the client; changes are recorded as alterations.
- Further fittings — as many as the garment needs; each one logged.
- Final fitting & collection — the sign-off.
Where each piece lives
- Appointments are booked in the Diary with a type per stage — see The Diary.
- Measurements are versioned on the client record — see Recording measurements.
- Changes from a fitting are alterations on the commission — see Alterations.
- The commission's progress shows on the Board throughout.
In the room
During the appointment itself, press Fitting mode in the top bar — a full-screen flow built for standing at the rail with pins in one hand. See Fitting mode.
Reminders and confirmations for every fitting go out automatically once Settings → Messaging is set — clients who are reminded actually show up.
